About WHAT I DO I’m in love with ideas and how they can be best expressed. I help bring your stories to life, through film, animation, photography, and clear thinking. I love finding ways to make my clients shine. We all need a bit of critical distance to do that, so I help my clients to see the wood for the trees and bring out their highest vision. Many of my clients are tech companies, who have brilliant ideas in abundance but need help to weave them into compelling and beautiful narratives. I’ve built a great team- a bright bunch of creators, film makers, designers, illustrators, animators, and even comedy writers. Every project is different and we take a bespoke approach. MY STORY I grew up in Lancashire and studied philosophy at Nottingham University. Diving into, untangling and presenting an opinion on incredibly abstract topics provided a great basis for later creative work. I began my creative career as a photographer in Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur, and my style is influenced by many years spent abroad and exposure to radically different cultures and ways of thinking. I’m equally comfortable working in both location and studio environments. Photography-wise, I’m primarily a portraitist, occasionally dipping into reportage and fashion. The rise of digital and the desire to maintain a sense of challenge has led me to evolve into a multi-disciplinary creative director. I have a photographer’s eye for detail and an analytical approach to projects. Each new brief is a fresh challenge and I pride myself on never just working to a formula. My work has been featured in leading publications, including VICE, The Guardian, The Independent, Tech Crunch and many others. Having lived in several countries, I’m multi-lingual, and can work in German, Spanish, Swedish, French, Malay and Japanese. I have a black belt in judo, gained in Japan, and I’m a member of the GB Masters squad. Judo has had an enormous influence on my life, not least in terms of striving for continuous improvement. I’m involved with a number of site projects, including Techfugees, and I’m a co-founder/writer at Brexit Comedy. But mainly I just love ideas.
